Idaho Energy Code: 2018 IECC with Amendments
Effective January 1, 2021
Idaho's current energy code is based on the 2018 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) with state-specific amendments and applies to both commercial and residential building projects.
Full versions of the IECC are available on the International Code Council's website.
Amendments to Idaho's energy code can be found in the IDAPA 24 Current Administrative Rules, 24.39.30 Rules of Building Safety (Building Code Rules).
Coming Soon: 2021 IECC Review
The state of Idaho is preparing to review the 2021 IECC. It will be reviewed by the Idaho building code board for potential incorporation into the board rules.
We encourage all Idaho Energy Code Collaborative members to please take the time to read and familiarize themselves with the code!

What’s next? 2024 IECC in development
The IECC is currently drafting the energy code policy for 2024. Although it is still in development, we encourage all of our Code Collaborative participants to familiarize themselves with the code. Included below are several links to be able to learn more.
